A Fork in the Socket is my fourth website I've had over the last eight years or so. It's been nothing but a labor of love. Recently overhauled and redesigned, it's basically a blog with benefits. In addition to hosting silly stories and ideas I come up with, it also hosts a variety of tutorials and (soon to come) free graphics. Think of it as sitting somewhere in a geek-niche. The website is updated on a somewhat regular basis, though no schedule has been set in stone just yet. If the site actually has potential to bring in income, it will be updated on a near-daily basis, because hey! Everyone knows that money is the best form of encouragement.

Ideally, I'd like this to become a career. I enjoy writing tutorials, I love telling stories, and I have a lot of passion for web design. If you'd like to help me out I'm accepting donations via my paypal account. In the near future, I will be selling goods that you could purchace to help support my addiction to internet (and also my need for sustenance.) If you cannot donate, I fully understand. But if you do like the content, you could go ahead and do some promotion for me. A simple link to my website would do wonders for my traffic, which is awesome!

A Fork in the Socket is also graciously hosted by my good friend Spazz of NothingForFree. We're hanging off of Dreamhost right now, and they seem to be pretty solid. I'd also like to give a big thanks to Liam Slusser, who has been the one person who got me started and held my hand through out the eight years! Thanks, Liam-Angel C:

FAQ:

May I use an image I found on your website elsewhere
Yes, but only under certain conditions. You must follow these rules:

  • All my images are watermarked, which means that they include my URL directly on them. This is not to be removed or altered in any way, shape, or form. You may resize, but do not crop out anything.
  • All Images must either directly link to my website themselves, or a link to my website must be provided near the image, or somewhere inside your post. (Not cleverly hidden, either.)

May I reproduce any written content on this website?
Under normal conditions: No. No written content is to be lifted from this website, altered or unaltered, and placed elsewhere. If you are hosting a collection of blogs or are going to site a piece of my work as reference, you must follow these rules:

  • Never, ever take my work without credit. You must provide a link to the quote and/or to my website either in the article or a footnote.
  • Quote my work in its entirety, no alterations are to be made to the wording. (e.g. Don't change "Using this will yield the best results" to "using this will yield good results." You must leave my writing in tact.
  • You can use selective sections (you don't have to quote my entire blog, you can just use a paragraph or a few sentences) provided you post a link back to the full article at the end of the quote. (Example ".... I'd get requests from people who went to other schools, but knew a kid I went to class with. Wasn't that Debbie Girlstein's boyfriend from Townsville Middle School when we were in eighth grade? I think I might have seen him at a dance, but who knows. Debbie was kind of a whore in the 8th grade. And for some odd reason, I actually accepted some of these people. And I was just baffled by the time my list was over 200 people when I only knew (and liked) about 70 of them." Rook Ie - "Facebook is the Work of the Devil" aforkinthesocket.com )

Can I link you on my blogroll or website?
Oh hells yes, I'd love it! Send me an email afterward so I can check out your blog or site!

Will you link me on your blogroll?
Sure! Send me a link to your website, but look over this list of criteria first, please!

  • I'm looking to avoid linking to livejournal if at all possible. The community itself is pretty unprofessional and I've noticed that a lot of blogs there are a bit whiny/emo. You can pass me the link if you would like, and I'll read through your blog and deside for myself.
  • Your blog/website must fit into at least one of the following categories: Humor, Geek, Female Bloggers, Technology, Gaming, DIY Crafting, Cooking, or Design (Website, clothes, jewelry, metalwork, I don't care.) The reason I say this, is that it is because it's the sort of things that I post/I'm into, and it sort of keeps me in a community. (Basically most blogs fit into this, but I am not looking for political blogs, fandom blogs, or debate blogs. Try to keep it fun and free!)
  • It'd be KICKASS if you could list me in your blogroll. WINK WINK.
  • Under no circumstance will I ever link an overly whiny blog. Begone, emo kid. It will not happen.
